What’s Included in Our Housekeeper Training:

1. Consultation

Before training begins, we’ll conduct a consultation to understand your specific cleaning needs. This can be done in person or remotely via email and a questionnaire, ensuring we tailor the program to your preferences.

2. On-Site Hands-On Training

Your housekeeper will receive a full day (or more, depending on your needs) of hands-on training at your location. We'll cover essential cleaning techniques, including appliance maintenance, room-by-room cleaning, and laundry best practices. You don’t need to be present for the training, but an initial meeting with Healthy Maid is required to review the plan.

3. Free Follow-Up Session

After training, you’ll receive a complimentary 2-hour follow-up session at your home or premises. During this session, we’ll answer any questions, provide a certificate of completion, and present a detailed cleaning manual, checklists, and visual guides. For clients outside our local area, the follow-up can be conducted via Skype or a virtual platform.

Training Focus Areas:

While we don’t perform a full spring cleaning during the training day, we’ll equip your housekeeper with the knowledge to properly maintain and clean every area of your home or business. Over time, you’ll see significant improvements in cleanliness and upkeep, particularly within the first month.

• Kitchen: Proper care for kitchen appliances (ovens, fridges, dishwashers) to ensure hygiene and prolong appliance lifespan.
• Living & Dining Rooms: Techniques for dusting, vacuuming, and maintaining furniture and floors.
• Bedroom: Best practices for bed-making, handling linens, and ensuring a welcoming, fresh environment.
• Bathroom: Deep cleaning techniques focusing on hygiene and long-term upkeep.
• Laundry & Ironing: Proper washing, drying, and ironing methods, including garment care and understanding clothing labels.

Key Aspects of the Training Program:

• Natural, Environmentally Conscious Cleaning Products:
  We use natural, non-toxic products, primarily based on vinegar and citrus, which are better for your health and the environment. Your housekeeper will be trained to use these products for a safer, more effective clean.
• Color-Coded Cloths:
  Your housekeeper will learn to use color-coded cloths for different materials to prevent cross-contamination and ensure thorough cleaning.
• Appliance Maintenance:
  Training includes proper appliance care to prevent mold buildup and prolong the life of household machines such as washing machines and dishwashers.
• Guest-Quality Standards:
  We teach high-end guesthouse standards, including professional towel and linen folding, and other small touches that elevate the cleanliness and luxury feel of your space.
• Checklists & Manuals:
  After training, you'll receive a cleaning manual, including detailed pictures, checklists, and guides for daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal tasks. These resources ensure that your housekeeper maintains consistency in their cleaning routine.
• Empowerment & Certification:
  At the end of the training, your housekeeper will receive a certificate of completion, boosting their confidence and providing a sense of accomplishment.

Cost of Training:

• In-House Training for One Housekeeper:
  The cost for the first housekeeper is R4,450. This fee includes the comprehensive training session and a follow-up session. If you have additional housekeepers, the fee for each extra housekeeper is 50% of the original fee.
• Follow-Up Session:
  The follow-up session is included in the R4,450 fee. Travel costs of R8.00 per km from Paarl are additional.
• Cleaning Caddy & Refills (Not compulsory, but recommended):
  We provide a specially designed cleaning caddy filled with natural, non-toxic products for use during training. The caddy and the first set of refills are priced at R2,350.
• Travel Costs:
  Travel within Paarl is included. For distances beyond this, travel is charged at R8.00 per km (based on AA tariff). Additional travel costs (such as flights or accommodation) may apply for distant locations.
• Ongoing Monitoring & Evaluation:
  We offer optional Monitoring & Evaluation sessions to ensure your housekeeper continues to meet the training standards. Each 60-minute session costs R610, plus any applicable travel fees.
